About this site.
LLCforLandlords is an LLC-formation reference site for landlords and rental-property investors. We write specifically for people who own (or are about to own) investment property — not for "any small business owner."
That distinction matters. Generic LLC content treats LLC formation as a one-size-fits-all decision. Landlord LLC structuring isn't generic: a single-member LLC for a Florida duplex has different asset-protection, tax, and financing implications than a multi-member series LLC holding ten Texas properties. We cover the differences specifically.
What we cover
- LLC formation guidance for rental property — when it makes sense, when it doesn't, and how to actually do it.
- Honest reviews and comparisons of LLC formation services (LegalZoom, ZenBusiness, Northwest Registered Agent, Rocket Lawyer, IncFile).
- Operating agreement templates for single-member and multi-member rental LLCs — reviewed by a licensed attorney before publication.
- State-specific structuring guidance for the most common landlord-favoured states (Wyoming, Florida, Texas).
What we don't do
- We don't write generic content for non-rental small businesses.
- We don't push the highest-paying affiliate offer over the genuinely-better one.
- We don't replace a CPA or attorney — we make sure you've got specific questions to ask one.
